Brownfield data acquisition and intelligence: connect the equipment you already have

GSS Analytix gets data out of the equipment your sites already have. Phantom Shield gateways connect HVAC, energy meters, generators, UPS, fuel tank consoles, CCTV recorders, access control and sensors from any manufacturer over open protocols (BACnet, Modbus, OPC UA, SNMP, MQTT, HTTP/REST), without modifying firmware, replacing hardware or doing civil works. The Reveal platform then normalizes, analyzes and correlates that data and acts on it: real-time alerts, failure prediction, audit-ready reports and automated actions across every site.

What brownfield data acquisition means

Most operations don't run on new, connected equipment. They run on chillers, generators, meters, tank consoles and recorders from different brands and decades, each with its own protocol and its own screen, or no screen at all. Brownfield data acquisition means connecting that installed base as it is, instead of waiting to replace it.

That is what GSS Analytix does: connect what you already have, collect its data, normalize it, analyze it and automate action, in one vertically integrated solution, from the gateway on your equipment to the AI agents and the LLM your team talks to.

How it works: connect, collect, normalize, analyze, act

1. Connect

A Phantom Shield gateway (physical or virtual) is installed at each site and connects to your equipment through the protocols it already speaks. No firmware changes, no hardware replacement. For equipment that was never instrumented, Phantom Shield is often its first digital touchpoint.

2. Collect

The gateway reads data continuously and sends it to the cloud. If the connection drops, data queues on the gateway and syncs when it returns (store and forward, with configurable buffer depth). Where a direct connection isn't possible or cost-effective, existing cameras can read gauges, levels and indicators (CCTV beyond security).

3. Normalize

4. Analyze

Reveal applies business rules, anomaly detection, specification validation, root-cause analysis and failure prediction. It correlates signals across systems: a temperature spike, a power anomaly and a UPS event tell a story no single system sees alone (the hidden value of cross-system correlation).

5. Act

Reveal sends alerts by WhatsApp, email or ticketing systems, generates audit-ready reports, and can execute actions: adjust setpoints, activate backups, switch equipment on schedule. Every action is logged (automate processes). Your team can also ask questions in natural language, by text or voice, through any compatible LLM.

Protocols and equipment we connect

Protocols: Modbus RTU / TCP · BACnet IP / MSTP · OPC UA · SNMP · MQTT · HTTP / REST · CCTV / ONVIF

Equipment Phantom Shield runs on today:

  • HVAC (chillers, air handlers, BMS)
  • Energy meters and power quality
  • Backup generators and fuel tanks
  • UPS, battery banks and rectifiers
  • CCTV: IP cameras, DVRs and NVRs
  • Access control, intrusion and fire alarms
  • Telecom site infrastructure
  • Commercial kitchen equipment
  • IoT sensors (temperature, humidity, vibration, flow)

Built to run in the field

  • Store and forward: data is buffered on the gateway during outages and synced on reconnect.
  • Signed firmware: every release is signed and rolled out in stages or fleet-wide.
  • Zero-touch provisioning: new gateways are provisioned as part of the ingestion layer.
  • On-site automation: discrete actions triggered by thresholds, schedules and rules on equipment that supports it.
  • Read-only by choice: in sensitive contexts such as CCTV, deployed read-only for cybersecurity.
  • Your data stays yours.

Keep your BMS, SCADA or VMS

You don't need to rip and replace a working building management system, SCADA or video management system to get cross-site visibility. Reveal sits on top of existing security, HVAC, energy, water and production systems, connects to them over open protocols, and adds the correlation, prediction and automation they don't have.

Where it runs today

  • Fuel stations: we connect your tank gauging console and correlate it with purchases and sales for refill forecasts, delivery reconciliation and per-tank shrinkage control → Reveal Fuel
  • Telecom base stations: infrastructure, electrical systems, environment and access → Reveal Tower
  • Commercial kitchens and restaurants: equipment control, thermal loads, ventilation and water → Reveal Kitchen
  • CCTV operations: health of every recorder, drive and camera across brands → Reveal CCTV
  • Free trade zones and shopping centers: per-tenant metering, backup power and fuel → Free trade zones
  • Industrial, healthcare and education: see all use cases

Results

  • A restaurant chain saved about $350 per month per site on energy through hood automation, bain-marie control and electrical visibility (read the case).
  • Fuel station tank gauges are read every 10 minutes, with no civil works (Reveal Fuel).
  • Companies that trust GSS Analytix include Entel, Claro, Grupo Nutresa, Gecolsa, Seguros Bolívar, Chubb, Clínica Imbanaco, Hospital de Caldas, Ladrillera Santafé, Cannon and Golden GBC.

How projects are sized

Each piece of equipment or data source connected through the gateway is a primary connection. That is the unit every project is sized and priced by.

Frequently asked questions

How can I collect data from my existing industrial equipment without replacing it?

Install a Phantom Shield gateway at the site. It reads data from the equipment you already have over open protocols (BACnet, Modbus, OPC UA, SNMP, MQTT, HTTP/REST) without modifying firmware, replacing hardware or doing civil works, and sends it to the Reveal platform, where it is normalized, analyzed and turned into alerts, reports and automated actions.

What platform connects legacy equipment to the cloud for remote monitoring?

GSS Analytix combines two products: Phantom Shield, an edge gateway (physical or virtual) that connects legacy equipment from any manufacturer, and Reveal, the cloud platform that monitors, analyzes and acts on that data across all your sites. Both are built and operated by GSS Analytix, from the gateway to the AI agents.

Do I have to replace controllers, PLCs or firmware to retrofit IoT monitoring?

No. Phantom Shield connects through the communication ports and protocols your equipment already exposes and does not modify firmware or the equipment's programming. For equipment that was never instrumented, the gateway is often its first digital touchpoint, and existing cameras can also be used to read gauges and indicators where a direct connection is not possible or cost-effective.

What is a brownfield IIoT platform?

A brownfield IIoT platform gets data out of facilities that are already built and running, with equipment of different brands, ages and protocols, instead of requiring new connected equipment. GSS Analytix covers the whole chain in one vertically integrated solution: connect (Phantom Shield), collect and normalize, analyze (Reveal), and act through rules, automation and AI agents.

Does it work across many facilities at once?

Yes. Reveal is built for multisite operations: one view of every system at every site, with alerts and role-based reports. Gateways are provisioned zero-touch and firmware is rolled out in stages or fleet-wide. GSS Analytix runs today in fuel station networks, telecom base stations, multisite restaurant kitchens, shopping centers, free trade zones and multi-plant industrial operations.

Which protocols and equipment does Phantom Shield support?

Modbus RTU/TCP, BACnet IP/MSTP, OPC UA, SNMP, MQTT, HTTP/REST and CCTV/ONVIF. It runs today on HVAC, energy meters, CCTV, access control, generators and fuel tanks, telecom site infrastructure, commercial kitchen equipment and IoT sensors.

Can I keep my BMS, SCADA or video management system?

Yes. Reveal works as a layer on top of what you have: it connects to existing security, HVAC, energy, water and production systems, correlates their signals, and adds anomaly detection, root-cause analysis and automation without replacing them.

What happens if the site loses its internet connection?

Phantom Shield stores and forwards. Data queues on the gateway and syncs when the connection returns, and the buffer depth is configurable.

Can it control equipment, or only read data?

Both. Phantom Shield can run discrete actions triggered by thresholds, schedules and rules on equipment that supports it, such as switching restaurant kitchen equipment on and off, and Reveal can adjust setpoints, activate backups and notify teams, logging every action. In sensitive contexts such as CCTV, it is deployed read-only by choice for cybersecurity.

How is a project sized and priced?

By primary connection: each piece of equipment or data source connected through the gateway counts as one primary connection.
